How We Started

The Archangel Players were founded in 1980 by John Powel Walsh and Dr. Richard O’Brien. In its infancy, the Players thrived as a natural extension of the very well-respected music program at St. Gabriel the Archangel Church. Although John has retired from his early role as producer and musical director, he is still among our most ardent supporters and frequent visitors.

We continue to thrive as a close-knit group of friends. In fact, many of us consider the Players to be a second family. Our children have been brought up "smelling the greasepaint" and continue to come back year after year to participate. Of course, we're always glad to see new friends join in on the fun.
