Christian Formation
And
Education Commission

The Christian Formation and Education Committee defines and plans the educational mission of the Parish.

Parish Board of Education: The Board is comprised of 15 parishioners, elected for a three-year term.  The Parish Board of Education assists the Pastor and the Principal of the Parish School in planning for the needs of the school.  It also is concerned with the religious education of the entire parish community.  Meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the school meeting room.

Children's Liturgy: During the 9:00 a.m. Sunday Mass, the Liturgy of the Word for Children is celebrated.  The Word of God is presented in a way that is understandable by young children.

Parent Faculty Association: The PFA is comprised of the faculty and parents of our parish elementary school.  In conjunction with the Home and School Association, they offer education programs that are beneficial to parents.  They sponsor activities that raise funds for improvements to the school.

Parish Library: The library is located in the vestibule on the east side of the church, and everyone is welcome to browse through its holdings.  One can find reading material for every age from preschooler through adult.  Any material can be taken home, or it can simply provide a source of thought and meditation while making a church visit.

R.C.I.A: The Rite of the Christian Initiation of Adults is the process whereby people who are interested in either joining the Catholic Church can be prepared for this journey of faith or Catholics who would like to learn more about their faith from an adult perspective can do so.  It begins in September and ends in May.  Parishioners serve in various roles in working with candidates who are participating in this Rite.

St. Gabriel School (K-8): The school involves a substantial commitment of resources and support for the future of our parish, our Church, and our nation.  We are committed to providing a quality Catholic education for the children enrolled, to working cooperatively with teachers and parents, to forming the younger members of our parish in the faith that was handed on to us.
